Iranian pastor refuses to reject religion, faces execution.

Our last court session was held on Wednesday. Mr Nadarkhani did not repent and the last court verdict said he would face a death sentence if he did not,” Mohammad Ali Dadkhah said.

Mr Nadarkhani, now 32, converted from Islam to Christianity at the age of 19 and became pastor of a small evangelical community called the Church of Iran.

He was arrested in October 2009 and condemned to death for apostasy under Islamic sharia law, which however allows for such verdicts to be overturned if the convicted person “repents” and renounces his conversion. (The Telegraph)

The sickest detail emerging about Moammar Gadhafi’s regime: he recruited teenage girls as killers.

The dictator reportedly recruited thousands of girls and young women for years to serve as his soldiers. Their purpose may have been for sex as much as fighting, however, with rape all too common, the British paper The Daily Mail reported yesterday.
The British paper found a 19-year-old woman who claimed she killed about 11 young men over three days as the regime clung to power.
Nisreen Mansour al Forgani said she was recruited by her mother’s friend to join one of Gadhafi’s Popular Guards all-female militias last year. She said she was raped by three different senior military officials.

This is sad. tsk.

GMO Giant Monsanto Under Investigation

Will there be justice?

Probably not, and unfortunately they are only looking into their herbicide part of it, not at any of their genetically modified business. But it’s a start.

Fingers crossed they actually do a half-decent investigation and charge them with violating human rights by being pretty much the most evil corporation ever.

wash, pack, donate and pray :)

In Cotabato City, thousands of families have been affected by the flood caused by heavy rains that began last May 22, 2011 (source).

There are currently 66,000 families who have been displaced (source).

WATCH THIS VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJVr0S-ecx8 so you can see the extent of the damage.

I saw the news awhile ago and ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya is now open to receive donations. Victims of the flood are in need of food, clean drinking water, clothes, blankets and medicine.

Since we have so many nurses in this country, I’m hoping there’ll be plenty of volunteers :)

My 6th grade teacher once told us that if you have anything in your closet that you haven’t worn in three months, GIVE IT AWAY :) Since I gained 10++ pounds (HAHA), there’s too much stuff to give away. Things I should have given away a long time ago. I saved them because I thought I could lose the weight easily. Now I’ve come to embrace my fat ass. I guess it’s time for them to go.

P.S. PLEASE DONATE CLOTHES THAT CAN STILL BE WORN. Some people donate torn clothes that look like rags, that’s just wrong!

BEFORE DONATING:

1. CHECK YOUR CLOTHES FOR TEARS OR STAINS. Remember, SOMEONE in need will wear them. (you can repurpose clothes that have holes and stains, don’t let somebody else wear your trash!) AND DON’T YOU DARE GIVE AWAY USED UNDERWEAR (duh!). Only give NEW underwear.

2. WASH THE CLOTHES. In most cases, recipients of donated clothes wear them immediately. Don’t give them clothes filled with germs!

3. PACK THEM NEATLY. Imagine yourself giving hand me down clothes to your relatives.

4. BE SINCERE. Do this because you want to, not because it’s the easiest way to get more closet space.

Lastly, PRAY. Pray for those who have been affected by the calamity, pray for the volunteers, pray for the government because they always seem so clueless (HAHA).

For those of you in Davao you may send your donations to Sagip Kapamilya located at Shrine Hills, Matina, Davao City. I’m not sure if GMA Kapuso Foundation is also accepting donations, I rarely watch GMA but just in case, try to contact them :)

God bless you all :)
